All workshops are designed to help the writer take his or her work to completion. They are appropriate for both beginners and advanced writers. Full manuscripts or new projects may be worked upon in these classes. The workshop focuses on the principles of craft that separate the “wanna-be” writer from the professional writer: things you will seldom learn in other venues. From organization to self-editing, you’ll learn what it takes make your writing the very best it can be. The instructor’s emphasis is upon helping each writer write to a level for professional publication, in any, or several of the prose genres.

Tuition for all eight-session workshops is US $325. 00 or peso equivalent. Places in the workshops will be held only with advance payment in full. A maximum of six writers may be enrolled in each workshop, unless otherwise determined by instructor. As these workshops are popular, early enrollment is suggested. Personal Consultations and email coaching: I work with a limited number of students on a lpersonal consultation level. This may be local, or through an email approach. In the latter case, the client and I set up what works best—email submissions, phone calls, and usually a combination of both. My charge is $75.00 per hour; $50.00 per hour for long-term projects.  I review manuscripts at a cost of US $75.00 per 10,000 words. The average word-length for a book is 80,000 words.

San Miguel Writer’s Conference 2011: February 18 to 24.
